Abstract: the article investigates the genre variety of literary and critical texts forming the program discourse in Russian journals dated to 1840-1870-s of the XIX century. It describes the mechanism of genre features formation in program texts under the influence of typological characteristics of large-volume journal. The article also specifies genres and genre groups of publications, producing program discourse.
