Abstract: in the article the author examines the linguistic nomination of sympathy as a particular type of empathy objectified in A.A.Fet's and F.I. Tyutchev's lyric poetry. The vocabulary of the emotion sympathy is compared on paradigmatic and syntagmatic levels.
