Abstract. The article is devoted to the interdisciplinary problem of defining the status of heterogeneous texts (PR texts), providing the actively developing activities of organizations in the aspect of public relations (PR activities). From the standpoint of document linguistics and document study it was proved that the PR texts have common features with documents connected with the external peculiarities, stylistic features, importance in record keeping, creation technology and tools. Thus, the consideration of PR texts as documents is justified. For the purpose of establishing the identity paradigm of the documents of public relations we introduced the concept of "document nature" treated as a categorical property of the text, which is actualized in the complex of private properties: consistency, functionality, information content, structure, and style of text relatedness. We established that the relevant constitutive properties of the documents used in PR activities of the organizations are structure and consistency. Irrelevant properties which are realized variably perform functionality, informativeness and stylistic attribution. The dominant function and the type of information and style features determine the degree of documentary PR texts high, medium and low. On the basis of the identified differences in the degree of documentary text we proposed classification of PR texts. The research approach approved in the article can be used to analyze documents of other communicative spheres.

Key words: document, document text, document nature, properties of document text, document management, public relations, PR text.
