Abstract. The article deals with the issues connected with the Bible text as a precedential phenomenon in the Russian and European literature and culture. The Old Testament plot of Sarah and Hagar as well as key concepts formed on its base are in the center of the author's attention. As this situation contains a dramatic element, its plot is created as a novel type, and the Bible narrative is marked with the presence of female characters. In the precedential field of the presented plot, such concepts as 'family', 'love', 'jealousy', 'betrayal' and so on are the most actively formed and used in prose and poetry. In a number of literary texts the plots of Hagar's Escape and Hagar in the Desert are activated with the weakening of precedential potential of other subsituations with religious content in the frames of considered precedential situation. The semantic evolution of concepts was studied with the help of the method of comparison of cognitive matrix of the Bible text and novels written in different languages in different periods of time. As a result of the carried out analysis, it is stated that under considerable deformations in the structure of cognitive matrix of the Bible text in the process of realization of its precedential potential, both conceptional link with the original Bible text, and universal multicultural nature of key concepts are marked. The conclusion is made that due to the connection with the presence of latent meaning quanta in the structure of concepts of 'Hagar' and 'Hagarenes' (such as 'divorce', 'debauchery', 'Muslims', 'gentiles' and others) and the possibility of ironic reconsideration of the Bible meanings that are kept in the cognitive matrix of the original, their further semantic evolution in European languages and linguocultures is considered to be promising.

Key words: precedential text, precedential situation, Bible text, Hagar, Hagarenes, fiction text, concept.
