The author reveals the composition of lexical and semantic groups (LSGs) of adjectives that make part of nuclear and peripheral zones of adjectival subfield of functional and semantic field of lexicon of residents living in settlements with mixed population in Volgograd region. The author shows the heterogeneity of nuclear and peripheral zones of the field and reveals the differences between the adjective groups attributed to the actual kernel, co-nuclear area, near and far periphery. The analysis of LSGs as research units is carried out according to the four criteria (syntagmatic, paradigmatic, epidigmatic and functional). It allows determining the component composition of each segment of the field.
