Abstract: the ecolinguistic basis of studying the phenomenon of verbal aggression is discussed in the article. Having defined the concept "verbal aggression", the authors treat it as a means of speech influence in agonal political discourse; a framework of communicative strategies and tactics of its realization in political interviews of Angela Merkel is established.
