Abstract: the present paper deals with the results of linguistic research of media texts about Volgograd in terms of their nominative means for regional mass media content monitoring. It focuses on the variety of the citys secondary nominations employed in the intertextual space of regional mass media. The author grounds the thesis that all the nominations established form the integral heteronominative image of Volgograd. The heteronominative aspect serves as a basis for the city's conceptual notion.
