Abstract: the article is devoted to the analysis of interlingual mediation which is aimed at achieving communication effectiveness. Examining different types of translation the author defines different degrees of the translation interaction and methods of the mutual understanding. The article analyzes potential causes of communication failures in bilingual translation of an interview.
