Abstract: the article is devoted to the investigation of the language system prosodic level formation in the process of speech perception, production and comprehension. Some questions, referring to the speech production theory in the works of prominent native and foreign linguists, and which are closely connected
with their psycholinguistic research, are in the focus of the author's scientific attention.
