Abstract: the article presents a fragment of the research devoted to the problem of lexical categorization of time in general. Specific features of lexical categorization of time and its connection with human mentality are under study. The discussion centers round the peculiarities of man's ideas of time realization in the lexical semantics of nouns and adverbs.
