Abstract: the article describes semantic-grammatical class of impersonal predicate words in the Serbian and the Russian languages, united by a common meaning of state. The author analyzes the structure of impersonal sentences with predicative impersonal words to clarify their semantic classification, identifies similarities and differences in their functioning in the texts in the Serbian and the Russian languages.
