Abstract: common features that characterize an English economic text are considered in this article. Typical lexical peculiarities are mentioned. The informative main point of the text is pushed into the foreground. Characteristic style features of the English scientific economic text are underlined. The notion of a text dominant is introduced in the article. Special linguistic means become notable in the English economic text in different ways: phonetic, morphological, syntactical and lexical. The structural analysis was used in the work.
