Abstract: the paper considers the possibility for the integration of system-centric and anthropocentric principles in the analysis of the facts of the literary language and dialects. It specifies several traditional and innovative methods in the study of "human being in language". The author puts forward the conception of ethnic-language mentality which explains specific features of speech and mental activities of a certain ethnic group that are manifested in a natural language.
