Abstract: the article deals with the comparative analysis of binominal phrases in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle and the Old English poem "Andreas". The point of analysis is the influence of the text type on structural characteristics of the phrases, such as the number of components, word order, intervening text, the presence of the determiner and elimination.
