Abstract: in the article the texts of the reports by stanitsa atamans of the Don Army Oblast are analyzed from the viewpoint of a composition, props set, and lingual (lexical, grammatical, stylistic) specificities. The author specifies the main features of the official style and its interaction with the folk-dialectal language in the regional documents.
