Abstract: the article deals with the investigation of a media image of a Russian political leader created in media sphere of the USA and Great Britain through linguistic means. The results of the research are as follows: the dominating type of evaluating Russian politicians in media images is implicit critique which has two basic ways of implementation at the syntactical and textual levels.
