Abstract: the article deals with attempts to analyze the explication of the category of topic in the texts of the hagiography genre. The category of topic is explicated in the text of the hagiography in in its trinity, and namely spiritual, subject-sacral and profane varieties, the spiritual topic is genre-formational in this case.
