Abstract: the article is devoted to the ways of designating the event time parameters in press releases and media publications. On the basis of the comparison between these types of texts using the above-mentioned parameter the distinctive features of PR-documents and journalistic article written on its basis are educed. The authors found out that time markers in media texts vary in their diversity, approximation and dedication to discursive conditions that is not typical for a document as a closed text.
