Abstract: the article considers the functioning of two homonymous tokens such as peace and world (МИР) in the texts of the Chronicles. The paper defines semantic peculiarities of nouns denoting the most important ideas of medieval culture, identifies syntagmatic conditions of their usage in different genre and stylistic of the Chronicles' articles. Derivatives with the root МИРЪ of different parts of speech are investigated in a functional, semantic and derivational relation.
