Abstract: the article deals with the questions connected with the creation of the typology of intonation universals in Slavonic and German languages from the point of view of expressive speech production in bilinguals' foreign language and the native speakers' perception of expressive means reproduced by bilinguals. Besides, the readers' attention is focused on the prosodic discrepancies in different languages which contribute to inadequate understanding of bilinguals' foreign speech by native speakers.
