Abstract: the article is devoted to the analysis of the specific semantic and semiotic structure defined by the author as russkiy tekst (Russian Text). This analysis demonstrates functioning of the texts, published in the major emigrant journal known in Russia as "Sovremennye zapiski", as a certain textual unity. The mechanisms of Russian Text functioning are described through the mythological and symbolic analysis of the fiction by M. Aldanov and B. Zaitsev.
